FAQs

How is it that you help people feel better so they can stay sober?

We use a proprietary combination of research proven methods that addresses all aspects of alcohol and drug abuse, by treating the problem in its entirety people can really be comfortable and content in recovery.

How long will I be in treatment?

The length of time a client is in treatment varies according to their needs and progress. Generally the starting phase of the program, which we call Modified Intensive Outpatient, lasts for 16 weeks. In this phase you attend groups 2 nights a week for 2 hours and then are seen individually once every other week. The aftercare phase, called Recovery Maintenance, last between 8 to 16 weeks depending on progress. In this phase you attend a one hour group session and are seen individually once every 4 weeks.

Most treatment centers start with 10 hours a week of Intensive Outpatient, how can you help at just 4 hours a week?

Our methods are more advanced and so people need less treatment to get a better result.

Will I stop wanting to drink/use drugs?

Many of our clients, even those who have a long history of prior treatments and relapses report they no longer feel any desire to drink or use drugs. In fact, many of them report that thoughts of drinking or using drugs no longer occur to them at all!

 Do you prescribe medications?

As counselors, we are not legally allowed to prescribe medications. However, in those circumstances where medication seems advisable, consulting with a psychiatrist to determine whether medication is warranted can be a part of your treatment. Some of our clients take anti-craving or other medications to assist their recovery while others choose to rely on advanced nutritional supplementation or a combination of both medications and supplements. Still others choose to take nothing to assist their recovery. We refer our clients to Laura Slaughter MD a psychiatrist, who practices in our area and provides direct consultation on our cases.Like our selves, Dr. Clements charges very reasonable fees for consultations. Clients are free of course to consult with any psychiatrist they choose.
